Andy O'Sullivan ( race commentator for our half marathon) has long been arranging road races for charity in the Rochdale area .
One was the "Ron Hill birthday" run last September in which Nina , Tony and myself ran.
Having struggled with a bad hip since January , a run out in one of Andy's races seemed a plan !
Despite the clear "H&S" issues being adopted in some areas with road races , Rochdale clearly turns a blind eye , or Andy is the law of the land .....Perhaps the latter !'
Pub HQ is The Falcon Inn , and the race starts on a narrow side street tucked off the main road . A mad dash around a couple of sharp bends and career up th road , gradually funnelling on to the pavement. Cars and pedestrians beware , a mass of runners are approaching . ....Its all great fun , a great atmoshphere and a great presentation back in the pub.
A slightly undulating course so not fast times but a good work out .
