Gail

Watched the footage on Sunday, saw Gareths smiling face on TV as he was waving to the camera, and have just read the race reports from both Sharon and Janine - the big softie that I am, am totally choked by it all!! All I can say is I think you ALL deserve a medal for just completing the 26.2 miles in those conditions. A massive well done to all, Gail xx

Elspeth

Sharon you did so well. You can't believe how many good runners I saw with 800m to go just collapse with heat exhaustion and dehydration - some not even making it to the end. It was really hot and you did brilliantly. I was really proud to be part of the same club as you all and to be able to shout support to all the Wilmslow runners - you all fully deserved you medals!

Elspeth I don't know whether you were one of those shouting me on 'Come on Wilmslow...!' but all the way round I was getting shouts for Wimlsow .... and heard very few (none?) for other clubs. What a great shirt.

Elspeth

Yes Ray, I spotted and shouted for you twice - just after Tower Bridge before you turned the corner for the 13 mile point and again as you passed St James Park with 800m to go. The Wilmslow Vest is brilliant - so easy to spot even among the crowds. Well done Ray.

Ray

I heard you - but didn't know it - at Tower Bridge!

Very, very grateful for the support.

Steve

I heard and saw you at both locations - especially the second time, really needed that support at that time. Can you do it again next year please :-) A whole lotta thanks x

Clare

Well done Sharon, it sounded grim out there, even Liz Yelling looked in a complete state by the end and was well down on target time. You were strong and stuck it out and you'll look back on it as a major achievement when life gets back to normal. Have you still got ice packs down your leggings?!

Grete Weitz:

Sorry for putting this here, perhaps someone could put a comment on the main page.

Grete has a fitting ibituary in the New York Times and there is a moving set of posts on Letsrun also with a link to a Runnersworld obituary.

All of us, men and women, owe a lot to Grete. By all accounts she was a very fine lady.
